Clearance Testing

Laboratory Results with a Lead Dust Wipe Test

Lead paint can emit harmful lead dust when it is being removed or the area where it is presumed to exist is being renovated. This can be identified through a lead dust wipe test in Monroe County, NY, from Interstate Property Inspections Inc. During testing, we inspect an extensive range of areas throughout your property, and there must not be any deteriorated interior surfaces anywhere. If any deteriorated paint is detected, we cannot conduct lead dust clearance testing at your home or office.
Lead dust can remain in a home for years after renovations, and it’s nearly impossible to see. Deteriorated paint also emits lead that trained and certified examiners can easily identify. Samples are analyzed at a lab, and the results will give you the information you need in regards to having any lingering lead dust removed. We suggest you conduct your own visual property inspection before scheduling a dust test with us. That will save you from being charged for a test we had to cancel because your home did not pass our visual inspection upon arrival. Contact us before the test for advice on how to clean and prepare your home for testing.
